Researchers in the United States have recently found a topical respiratory tract vaccine might protect against the Ebola virus.
Ebola produces a highly contagious form of severe hemorrhagic fever with a high mortality rate in humans. It's also considered to be a high risk for use as a biological weapon.
Researchers from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have discovered existing intranasal vaccines might prove vital in preventative therapies.
This study is presented in the June issue of the Journal of Virology.
