University of Michigan researchers have recently announced a development in anthrax vaccination.
The researchers used an antigen derived from bacillus anthracis that doesn't cause sickness itself, but provokes a protective immune response.
The vaccine will be delivered through a nanoemulsion that carries droplets into the nasal passages, where they are detected by the immune system.
This new development offers better protection than the standard vaccine, which involves 6 injections over 18 months followed by annual boosters.
